Homosexuality Coverage in Student Paper Backed

Articles about homosexuality published in Fairfield High School’s student newspaper are protected under the 1st Amendment, a lawyer for the Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District said.
“Student free speech is pretty broad in California,” said the lawyer, Sally Dutcher.
Dutcher’s counsel was requested by board member Ivan Meadows after parents and others called the articles objectionable.
