A man killed in a two-car collision on California 126 near Piru was identified by authorities Saturday as 54-year-old Thomas Rolland Dungan of Palmdale.

Dungan was driving his Nissan Sentra east on the highway near the Ventura County line Friday night when he lost control, swerved to the side of the road and over-corrected, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The Sentra shot across the eastbound lanes into the westbound lanes and struck a Toyota Camry driven by Lori Canfield, 48, of Castaic, authorities said.

Although he was wearing a seat belt, Dungan was ejected from his car and died at the scene. Canfield and her passenger suffered minor to moderate injuries.
