Reason clashes with romanticism in the comedy of manners “Triumph of Love.” Mira Sorvino stars as a princess intent on returning her homeland’s throne to its rightful heir, who just happens to be a handsome young prince under the protection of a pompous philosopher. Ben Kingsley, Jay Rodan and Fiona Shaw co-star. Clare Peploe co-wrote and directed this adaptation of Marivaux’s 18th century romantic farce.

For generations of Southern California rockers, headlining the Forum was the crowning symbol of success. Even though posh new arenas dot the landscape, the Inglewood dowager can still cast a spell, and you can bet that the members of Incubus, the Calabasas funk-metal band that has worked its way to stardom over the past decade, will have a special place in its scrapbook for this career milestone.
