Good for our city attorney, Rocky Delgadillo (“Impersonating an Officer Could Be Costly in Los Angeles,” by Dava Calvo and Richard Winton, July 31). Just about the time I figured Los Angeles had realized that too many productions were carrying the “Made in Canada” label, he finds another way of chasing production from our city.

He has every right to be sensitive about our troubled police department, but attacking the hand that feeds the city instead of making adjustments within the department itself is crazy.

If Delgadillo’s motivation was truly protecting the reputation of the LAPD, rather than extorting money from the production companies, he would be demanding script approval.
