Corner Site of 2nd Fatal Accident in 2 Weeks
A Ventura man died after being struck by a vehicle at Johnson Drive and Telephone Road.
It was the second fatal accident at that intersection in two weeks.
Police said Dwight Spargur, 53, was bicycling along Johnson with his wife and started to turn east onto Telephone when he was struck by a northbound vehicle about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Spargur was executive director of the Sunrise Assisted Living senior complex in Ventura.
Police say the high volume of traffic and the number of speeding vehicles make the intersection dangerous.
