Christian School Will Apply for City Permits

From Times Staff Reports

Ventura County Christian School officials have agreed to city demands that they apply for building and use permits to let them move forward with renovations to the former Washington elementary school campus in Ventura.

The Christian school wants to renovate the dilapidated building and had hoped to move its 75 students from cramped quarters at Grace Church into portable classrooms on the school site.

But neighbors of the school complained and city officials in April issued an order to stop the work. A city planner said it could take two to three months before a decision on granting the permits is issued.
