Man Is Electrocuted Clearing Power Line
A 46-year-old Lemon Heights man was electrocuted Saturday as he apparently tried to clear palm tree fronds from a power line, police said.
John Kincannon, who lived in the unincorporated area near Santa Ana, was working in his backyard in the 1900 block of La Cuesta Drive at 2:15 p.m. and was apparently using a swimming pool skimmer to clear the fronds.
When the pole touched the line, Kincannon received a shock and stopped breathing. A neighbor started cardiopulmonary resuscitation, then paramedics arrived and took him to Western Medical Center-Santa Ana, where he was pronounced dead.
