Victim’s SUV Found; Suspected Killer at Large
An sport utility vehicle driven by a man suspected of a Salinas murder has been found abandoned outside a Cypress restaurant.
Juan Nunez, 26, is alleged to have stabbed his former girlfriend to death Aug. 8.
He is believed to have fled in her SUV.
It was found Monday outside Dalton’s Restaurant on Valley View Street.
A $1-million-bail murder warrant has been issued for the suspect.
Nunez was described as Latino, 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing about 160 pounds. Authorities said he has short black hair, a slight mustache and brown eyes. He has a mole below his left eye.
