Three couples sneak away for a secret rendezvous and unexpectedly collide at the same winter getaway in “Wintertime,” a world-premiere comedy by Charles L. Mee.

Together, singer-songwriter Amanda McBroom and baritone Rodney Gilfry perform an eclectic program of classic, contemporary and original songs at the John Anson Ford Amphitheatre. They call their entertainment “Two for the Road: An evening of romantic song.”

8pm Dance

From the Himalayas in the north to the tropical jungles of the south, India is a continent of contrasting geographies and cultures. “Yatra: A Journey to India” attempts to find a common ground. Award-winning choreographer Ramaa Bharadvaj and her Angahara ensemble will perform three classical South Indian dances in two ancient styles, Bharata Natyam and Kuchipudi. North Indian music will be also showcased in performances by singer Mala Ganguly and her Ragamala Music Ensemble. Finally, the evening is scheduled to end with a Bharadvaj-Ganguly collaboration that promises to layer, if not fuse, regional traditions in joyous experimentation.

6pm Jazz

Guitarist-singer George Benson and the group Fourplay headline this year’s JVC Jazz Concert at the Hollywood Bowl on Sunday evening. Benson was a firmly established jazz guitarist when his 1976 guitar-vocal recording of “This Masquerade” became the first record to reach No. 1 on the jazz, pop and R&B; charts. Fourplay, featuring guitarist Larry Carlton, pianist Bob James, bassist Nathan East and drummer Harvey Mason, released its debut CD, “Heartfelt,” last month on the RCA/Bluebird label. Saxophonist Steve Cole will open the show.

Food! Glorious food! The Skirball Cultural Center will celebrate international cuisine and the cultures of Los Angeles with a Food Festival. The daylong event will give visitors a chance to sample something new with tastings from around the world along with cooking demonstrations and “Ask the Chef” panels. Food and food and more food plus a wine garden, kids’ activities, art workshops and live music by the Susie Hansen Band and others.
