BET rethinks its news programming
Black Entertainment Television is canceling two of its three regular news shows, “Lead Story” and “BET Tonight With Ed Gordon,” and its public-affairs series “Teen Summit.”
Executives for the cable network said the cancellations are being made to make room for new programming that will include more news specials and documentaries. The prime-time news series will leave at the end of the year, while “Teen Summit” will discontinue production but stay on the schedule with unaired episodes into next year.
