A resolution calling for a death penalty moratorium in California was unanimously passed Tuesday by the Marin County Board of Supervisors.

“We are asking for a suspension; a suspension does not mean abolition,” said Supervisor John Kress, who co-wrote the resolution. He said the introduction of new technology has helped exonerate more than 100 people on death row nationwide.
