Things Looking Up for Museum of Flying

A plan to keep the Museum of Flying at the Santa Monica Airport has cleared a key hurdle, airport officials said Wednesday.
The museum closed in July after the Sept. 11 attacks sent insurance premiums soaring.
The Santa Monica City Council authorized city staff to negotiate an amendment to allow Volkswagen to relocate to the museum’s old digs. The museum would then reopen at a smaller hangar nearby.
