Airports Will Meet Screening Deadline

Federal officials said Thursday that all major Los Angeles area airports will meet a New Year’s Eve deadline to screen all checked baggage for explosives.
Luggage checked at Los Angeles International, John Wayne, Burbank, Long Beach and Ontario airports will be screened by a variety of means, ranging from sophisticated machines to hand searches.
