Passing Gunman Shoots Two Teens Riding Bikes
Two teenage boys were shot and wounded Saturday night as they were riding their bikes, Los Angeles police said.
One of the boys, 16, was in critical condition with gunshot wounds in the chest and leg, police said. The other boy, 15, was shot in the leg. Both were taken to Providence Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills.
The boys were northbound on Laurel Canyon Boulevard, near the Ronald Reagan Freeway, around 8:40 p.m. when a white car pulled alongside them and a gunman opened fire, police said.
The victims were not gang members and no suspects were in custody, LAPD Sgt. Dean Watts said.
