Brandel Chamblee, one of the PGA Tour’s top 100 money-winners for seven consecutive years, shot a five-under-par 67 Friday to take a two-shot lead in the Tucson Open.

“Just being in the thick of things is exciting,” said Chamblee, a midpoint leader for the first time in three years. “You certainly enjoy the game either way, but you always like that feeling that you’re about to throw up. It’s a welcome feeling.”

After an opening 67, Chamblee’s second consecutive day in red numbers left him at 12-under 132.
