VICA Supports Bond for Police and Fire Facilities
With assurances from Los Angeles officials that the city will comply with truth-in-bonding laws, the Valley Industry and Commerce Assn. board voted Tuesday to support Proposition Q, a $600-million bond measure for police and fire facilities on next Tuesday’s ballot.
Some VICA members had believed the bond measure failed to comply with state law because it did not list on the ballot the specific projects that would be funded.
But the city attorney’s office has since concluded that the measure complies with state law.
