U.S.-Bound Jet Crashes, Killing 5 Americans

A private jet bound for the United States crashed on takeoff at Birmingham airport in central England, killing five Americans on board.
The twin-engine Canadair Challenger carrying three crew and two passengers crashed just after noon.
AGCO Corp., a farm equipment manufacturer based in Georgia, said its president, John Shumejda, and a senior vice president, Ed Swingle, died. The crew members’ identities were not available.
