In boys’ soccer:

Quartz Hill 2, North Hollywood 1--Kiel McClung and Nick Angelillo each scored for No. 9 Quartz Hill (15-0) as the Rebels won the championship game of the Royal tournament at Royal High.

North Hollywood (10-6-1) narrowed its deficit to 2-1 midway through the second half when Raul Sigaran scored on a penalty kick, but the Huskies did not have any quality scoring opportunities after that. McClung, who has 19 goals this season, was selected the tournament’s most valuable player after scoring five goals in five games. North Hollywood’s Jorge Huerta was selected the tournament’s most valuable goalkeeper. He had 12 saves against Quartz Hill.
