2 Brothers Arrested in Gas Station Heist

Two brothers have been arrested on suspicion of robbing a gas station in Santa Paula of an undisclosed amount of cash, police said Sunday.

William Macias, 31, and Lucas Macias, 32, both of Santa Paula, were arrested late Saturday minutes after the USA gas station in the 100 block of 10th Street was held up, police said.

Two men entered the station’s store about 10:30 p.m. and waited for customers to leave before ordering the clerk to empty the cash register. Police said one of the men pulled a knife. The robbers fled on foot. The suspects were arrested several minutes later about a block away.

Both men were booked into Ventura County Jail on suspicion of armed robbery. William Macias also was being held on suspicion of making terrorist threats and possessing burglary tools.
