3 Siblings Left Alone Perish in House Fire
The bodies of three children left alone in a home were discovered after the house went up in flames.
The Sanchez siblings--Javier, 7, Annette, 5, and Francis, 3--were found after the flames were extinguished Sunday. Preliminary reports indicated the children died from smoke inhalation.
Neighbors said the mother, Maria Aguilar, 24, left the house with her boyfriend Saturday afternoon.
It was the second such tragedy in a week in the San Joaquin Valley. In Bakersfield, two children, 6 and 3, died in an apartment fire on New Year’s Eve after their mother allegedly left them home alone while she went out with friends.
