Delta Mechanics, Cleaners to Get Raise

Delta Air Lines Inc. said mechanics and cleaners will receive a previously postponed 16% pay increase effective March 16.

The pay increase for about 10,000 workers will cost the company $77 million this year. The workers were to receive the increase in October. It was postponed after the Sept. 11 attacks led to losses at Atlanta-based Delta.

Delta shares fell $1.38 to $29.91 on the NYSE.
