Ex-Teacher Guilty in Internet Case
A former religion teacher at the Pasadena Jewish Temple and Center pleaded guilty in federal court Tuesday to using the Internet to solicit sex with a onetime pupil.
Guy Raz, 35, faces two to five years in prison under terms of a plea agreement with prosecutors. He is to be sentenced March 11 in Los Angeles federal court.
FBI agents arrested Raz in October when he showed up for a meeting with the 13-year-old girl at the Altadena public library.
Authorities said Raz obtained the girl’s e-mail address while teaching at the temple. An administrator said his contract was not renewed when it expired in June.
