Adventurers’ Craft Fails on the Thames

Share

Two adventurers who hope to cross the ice between Alaska and Siberia in an amphibious ice crawler were embarrassed when it sank in London in a test run on the Thames.

Steve Brooks and Graham Stratford, hoping to become the first people to travel the approximately 55 frozen miles across the Bering Strait, managed to get the sinking vehicle to shore before it was lost in the tame waterway.

Rescued from the SnowBird6, the pair said they still plan to launch their adventure in March.
