Boy on Bicycle Hit by Car and Killed

A 14-year-old boy on a bicycle was killed Wednesday when he was struck by a hit-and-run driver in Garden Grove.

Juan Toledo of Stanton was declared dead about 7 p.m. shortly after the accident on Katella Avenue near Dale Street, police said.

A woman driving a white Toyota Camry was arrested about a block from the scene by an off-duty Buena Park police officer who had witnessed the accident and followed her, police Sgt. Paul McInerny said. The woman, whose identity was not released, was taken into custody for investigation of felony hit and run, McInerny said.
