Metrolink Passengers File Suit Over Accident
Ten passengers aboard a Metrolink train that was hit in April by a Burlington Northern Santa Fe freight train have filed a lawsuit against the rail operators, alleging negligence and willful disregard for their safety.
The lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, accuses Burlington Northern and Metrolink of failing to install technology that could have prevented the April 23 accident. Three people were killed and more than 200 people were injured when a Burlington freight train hit a Metrolink train filled with about 300 morning commuters.
