Kareem Rush, the Missouri guard the Lakers acquired in a draft-day trade from the Toronto Raptors, scored nine points in 34 minutes in his debut during the opening day of the Dada Summer Pro League at the Pyramid in Long Beach on Sunday.

The Lakers defeated the Memphis Grizzlies, 90-74, in front of a standing-room only crowd of 5,000.

“I was a little slow and rusty at the beginning because I haven’t played organized five-on-five basketball for over three months,” said Rush, who was four for seven from the field and made his only three-point attempt.

Former Arizona standout Bennett Davidson led the Lakers with 14 points.

Drew Gooden, the No. 4 overall pick from Kansas, scored 14 points for Memphis.
