Former Elections Chief Sues City Commission

Tammy Haygood, the city’s hired-again, fired-again elections chief, took her case to federal court Wednesday, suing the elections commission for allegedly violating her civil rights when it removed her from office.
Haygood alleges that the commission terminated her in April without just cause or a hearing, and the city’s civil service commission agrees.
