19-Year-Old Dies From Injuries in Drive-By Attack
A 19-year-old man died early Friday from a head wound suffered in a drive-by shooting in Pacoima, authorities said.
Alejandro Gonzalez was wounded at 7:25 p.m. Thursday after two men in a gray car pulled up near him in the 13000 block of Kagel Canyon Street, said Officer Don Cox, a Los Angeles Police Department spokesman. One man in the car opened fire, hitting Gonzalez in the head, police said.
By late Thursday evening, Gonzalez was in extremely critical condition and on life support at Pacifica Hospital of the Valley in Sun Valley. He died at 2:40 a.m. Friday, said hospital spokeswoman Sharon Kirsch.
Police are investigating the shooting as gang-related.
