Televising Sentencing of Skakel Is Rejected

A judge denied a request by Court TV to televise the sentencing of Kennedy cousin Michael Skakel, convicted last month of fatally beating neighbor Martha Moxley in 1975.
Superior Court Judge John F. Kavanewsky Jr. in Norwalk denied the request this week, citing a state guideline that no televising of sentencing hearings is permitted except in trials that were previously televised.
