Wife Ran Over, Killed Husband, Police Say
A jealous Texas dentist accused of killing her orthodontist husband by running over him several times with her Mercedes-Benz was ordered by a judge to stay away from the woman she believed to be her romantic rival.
In a hearing, state District Judge Carol Davies found there was sufficient evidence for a murder charge against Clara Harris, 44, but let her remain free on $30,000 bail.
Police say Harris caught her husband, David, 44, with another woman at a Houston area hotel Wednesday night.
Prosecutor Mia Magness told Davies that Clara Harris struck her husband, then circled around a parking lot and ran over him three times. She then backed the car over him and parked it on top of him, Magness said.
Harris told reporters Thursday the killing was “an accident.”
