Car Crash Victim Succumbs From Injuries
A 52-year-old man who was critically injured in a car crash earlier this month has died, coroner’s officials said Saturday.
Michael Hanks of Oxnard died Thursday evening at Ventura County Medical Center of complications from major chest and abdominal injuries, said James Baroni, a senior deputy coroner’s investigator.
Hanks’ car was broadsided July 19 while he was making a turn at Wooley Road and Victoria Avenue. Authorities believe Hanks did not have the right of way and pulled into the path of the other car.
The other driver, a 19-year-old Oxnard woman, was not injured and not cited.
