In a celebration of all things punk, that pint-sized diva Patricia Arquette and her cosmic brother Alexis rocked Club Make-Up at the El Rey Theatre on Saturday by singing X’s “Los Angeles.” I love L.A.... Happy birthday to the Cat Club, which turns 3 tonight with a show by Slim Jim Phantom and Gilby Clarke’s famed all-star band. Purrfect....

Those looking for a little night music should check out the U.K.’s hottie Brit pop band Haven, which performs at the Viper Room next Thursday and June 14. . Singer-actress-choreographer Niki Haris, who’s most famous for her collaborations with Madonna, is scheduled to perform at the Catalina Bar & Grill on Father’s Day.

Andrew W.K. got the party started last Friday at midnight at the Viper, where he played a surprise set after his sold-out show at the House of Blues. The Florida rocker dived into the frenzied crowd, which included such metal-heads as the Vines and Stargunn.... Big fun in little Chinatown on June 15, as the art gallery Shop Suey celebrates its grand opening with an exhibition by pop-pulp artist Niagara....

Man oh man, I had to go all the way to Jamaica to meet my neighbor, Van Nuys author Marcos McPeek Villatoro. Villatoro was one of 30 writers celebrated at last week’s Calabash Literary Festival, and he stole the show with a passionate reading in English and Spanish from his latest book, “The Holy Spirit of My Uncle’s Cojones.” The crowd went loco....

Try Glo, a new Friday night dance club at the Highlands, and Skin, a Thursday night hip-hop club at the Garden of Eden debuting next Thursday.... In other glamour news, Bianca of Hollywood--manicurist to the stars--has set up shop at the Parlour salon in WeHo. Bianca, who was working on an Ozzy kid when I showed up a few weeks back, told me the hot club color du jour is platinum white with a coat of glitter on top. Ooh la la.
