Girl, 13, Found Shot Dead in Apartment

A 13-year-old girl was found shot to death in a Lancaster apartment early Sunday, authorities said.
Evelyn Cendejas, whose body was found in an apartment in the 1100 block of West Avenue H-14, suffered a gunshot wound to the head, said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Sonia Parra.
Neighbors told police they heard gunshots around 11:30 p.m. Saturday.
Cendejas was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:45 a.m. Sunday, said coroner’s spokesman David Campbell.
