He’d Pitch His Tent Elsewhere

What a nice piece of work your Home and Garden Issue was (May 19). They say “a rich man has a psychiatrist and a poor man has his garden,” and I believe it. Two things: In the skin cancer-conscious Coachella Valley, I would cover a pool with a tent rather than have a tent at the side. And if I were invited to spend the night at the place with the outside mattress that was found on a curb in Venice, I would politely decline.
