Man Shot Dead While Arguing in Parking Lot
A man was killed before dawn Sunday while arguing with his girlfriend in a parking lot, apparently by someone in a crowd that had gathered around the couple.
The couple were in a parking lot in the 8000 block of Telegraph Road in Pico Rivera, police said.
Someone shot the victim in the torso after going back home for a gun, police said.
The shooter then called 911 from a nearby business, waited for Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies and explained that he believed the victim was assaulting the woman, police said. Investigators are holding him for questioning.
Neither the victim nor the shooter was identified by police.
