The Overlooked Festival

Lynn Smith and Kevin Crust should be ashamed that they discussed film festivals in Los Angeles (“A Banner Event?,” June 16) and the aspect of diversity, and did not mention the Pan African Film Festival. It occurs every February, usually at the Baldwin Hills Magic Johnson Theatre. It’s been around for about 10 years. Since you mentioned the Outfest several times even though it is not a mainstream audience event, you should have acknowledged the Pan African event.

It just goes to show that blacks are not taken seriously by the media and continue to be invisible except when negative things happen.
