Pretrial Hearing Set for Mother-Son Duo
From Times Staff Reports
Sante and Kenneth Kimes, the mother and son charged with murdering a businessman in March 1998, will return to Los Angeles Superior Court on July 26 for a pretrial hearing.
The Kimeses, who appeared briefly in court Wednesday, were convicted of killing an elderly socialite in New York and now face capital charges in Los Angeles.
Prosecutors allege that the pair killed David Kazdin on March 13, 1998, because he discovered they had taken a $280,000 loan in his name without his permission.
