Update--The Thrashers’ IIya Kovalchuk leads all rookies with 29 goals and 51 points. Center Tony Hrkac, who the Ducks did not re-sign last summer, is having a solid season, with 13 goals and 31 points.... The Ducks may be mathematically alive in the playoff race, but they were unofficially eliminated after a 2-1 loss to Chicago Sunday. The eighth playoff team qualified with 90 points last season. Even if the Ducks were perfect in their final 19 games, it would leave them with 89 points.
