CYA Youth Who Died at Facility Identified
A 19-year-old California Youth Authority ward who collapsed and died this week while playing basketball in Camarillo has been identified as Roshawn Trotter, authorities said Wednesday.
Trotter, who was from San Bernardino County, collapsed at the Ventura Youth Correctional Facility early Sunday evening.
Authorities said cardiac arrest was the cause and that the death was not suspicious.
Authorities waited to release the teen’s name because they had difficulty finding his family, which was in the process of relocating.
