Teen Found in Coma at Apartment Complex Dies
A comatose teenager died Friday, hours after she was identified by relatives who had learned of her condition through news reports, authorities said.
The 17-year-old girl, whose name was not released, was found unconscious about 8:30 p.m. Thursday in a Palmdale apartment complex, a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department spokesman said.
She was taken by paramedics to Antelope Valley Hospital in Lancaster and later transferred to Childrens Hospital Los Angeles, where she died late Friday afternoon, said Steve Rutledge, a spokesman for Childrens. The cause of death has not been determined.
