Internet-Savvy Seniors

I don’t buy the argument that Internet-only fares discriminate against retired folk (“Travel Agents Cry Foul Over Internet Fare Deals,” Feb. 17). We are the ones who have the flexibility to take advantage of some of the restricted fare offers.
I volunteer at Thousand Oaks’ Telecommunity Center, a nonprofit organization that assists people who want to make better use of PCs and the Internet. There are no age restrictions, but seniors make up the majority of the people we help. From this perspective, I see Internet fares as an incentive to seniors to get connected.
Is there inequality of Internet access for seniors? My guess is that it is exaggerated by travel agents who want to use the concept of deprived seniors to bolster their own cause.
