Baseball Season Close, but Not Dodgers

With the Dodgers set to open the season in less than two weeks, it’s time to post the “Missing” signs around Los Angeles. It would appear that the Dodgers’ offense has yet to report to spring training ... or maybe it has? Here’s a quick look at some batting averages: Bichette .175, Beltre .167, Green .103, Grudzielanek .000, Goodwin .200, and Eric Karros, who unfortunately seems to be in midseason form, .216.

In last week’s Radio-TV column, Larry Stewart pointed to the fact that Fox Sports gave more media coverage to the Dodgers than the Angels--alluding to the possibility that Fox ownership in the Dodgers may be the primary reason behind this disparity.

Well, Mr. Stewart should then ask this question: What explains the L.A. Times giving more column inches of coverage to the Dodgers than the Angels regardless of the level of the Dodgers’ ineptitude?
