School Parking Fund

“School Parking Scofflaws Caught on Tape” (May 7) says that Michelle Nealy complained that the program of videotaping school parking violations has “generated plenty of money for the city, but has not changed the chaotic parking scene at her son’s school.”

I have a great idea. Instead of ticket revenues going to the city, they should go directly to the school. This morning, as I dropped my child off at school, I counted six incidents of “illegal drop-off.” Let’s see, at $50 a pop, that’s $300. Multiply that by 180 (the number of school days)--that’s $54,000 per year for our financially strapped school.
