South County Traffic Collision Kills Woman, 63
A 63-year-old Santa Ana woman was killed Friday in Rancho Santa Margarita when her car was struck by an oncoming sport utility vehicle, police said.
The collision happened about 4:50 p.m. as the woman tried to turn from Calle Corta onto Santa Margarita Parkway. Her car was hit by an SUV traveling on Santa Margarita, police said. She died at the scene.
Police are still investigating but said it is unlikely the driver of the SUV, a 27-year-old Lake Forest man, will be cited.
