Saving an Architectural Icon

Tonight at 7, the Getty Conservation Institute will present a discussion titled “Fallingwater: Preserving a 20th Century Icon” with Lynda S. Waggoner, executive director of Frank Lloyd Wright’s cantilevered house in Bear Run, Pa., and structural engineer Robert Silman, president of Robert Silman Associates, the firm selected to conserve its sagging frame. On Sunday, Butterfields will auction “Modernist Design From the Collection of Michael and Gabrielle Boyd,” from 9 a.m. to noon. Included are pieces by Charles & Ray Eames, Arne Jacobsen, Eero Saarinen, among others. Previews begin Thursday at 10 a.m. at 7601 Sunset Blvd., L.A. On Sunday, the first-ever Judaica Roadshow and Art Exhibit will be held for free at Mount Sinai’s Simi Valley Memorial Park from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. It will feature appraisers who specialize in Judaica offering informal verbal appraisals.
