A radio personality pleaded guilty Thursday to two counts of committing a lewd act upon a child after being charged with a series of alleged sexual assaults on two 14-year-old girls he met through his show.

Firmo Martin Rosetti, known as morning host Hector Rocksetti on Century City-based KLYY-FM (107.1), faces a maximum of three years and eight months in state prison when he is sentenced June 13 by Burbank Superior Court Judge Chesley McKay.

Rosetti, 38, who allegedly offered to help one of the victims with a music career, originally was charged with two dozen felony counts of child molestation, rape and oral copulation. He would have faced up to 24 years in prison if convicted on all counts.

But Burbank Police Lt. Tim Stehr said authorities offered Rosetti the plea agreement to keep the girls from having to testify in court.

“Although the prison time may appear to be small compared to what he could have gotten, we have to take into account the emotional distress that would have resulted if the victims testified,” Stehr said.

Police and prosecutors alleged that Rosetti picked up one of the teenagers at her Long Beach home and told her he was taking her to a recording session.

Instead, police said, he had sex with her in his car and again at his apartment in the 1500 block of Catalina Street in Burbank. Five months later, the girl said, he assaulted her again in his apartment, according to authorities.

A week after Rosetti’s arrest in February, relatives of a girl from the San Gabriel Valley contacted authorities. Police said the girl told them she and Rosetti had five sexual encounters from September to January and that he would take her to his apartment after picking her up near her school.

Rosetti’s lawyer could not be reached for comment Thursday. Rosetti previously had denied engaging in any improper conduct with either girl.
