Man Killed After Trying to Grab Deputy’s Gun
A Littlerock man was shot and killed by a Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputy after he tried to grab the gun of the officer’s partner, authorities said.
Deputies confronted Robert Mitchell, 40, after responding to a burglary call Wednesday night in the 9200 block of Avenue T-4 in Palmdale. He had entered a home and threatened to kill its occupants, authorities said.
Mitchell allegedly lunged at a deputy, who then fired at Mitchell, wounding him. Mitchell then tried to grab a second deputy’s gun, authorities said, and was shot several more times.
