Motorist Gets Prison in Dragging Death of Girl

A Los Angeles man who was under the influence of drugs when he drove his car last February into a 4-year-old girl, dragging her 30 feet to her death, was sentenced Thursday to 17 years in prison for vehicular manslaughter.
Houstis Maddox, 33, confessed last month to speeding down a South-Central Los Angeles alley with his headlights off, killing Hannah Stallings, and then leaving the scene.
Blood tests revealed the presence of marijuana and a central nervous system depressant.
