All the Clipper Faults Don’t Lie With Sterling

Share

As a lifelong Clipper fan, I rue the day the Donald bought the team, curse the day he moved it to L.A. and long for the day when it’s put into capable hands.

Oh, what a day it will be. (Picture, if you will, a franchise not owned by the Worst Owner in Sports, where the team, not the owner, is the story.) What a vision. That being said, the incessant whining about contract status, and reporting of same, is idiotic. The Donald and his merry henchmen have assembled a talented team. It appears the individuals on that team fail to grasp the fact that if they win, they’ll get national publicity, and they’ll all make significantly more in next summer’s free-agent market.

It’s not the Donald’s fault this team is trying to eliminate itself from playoff contention in November. Blame Alvin Gentry (for twice calling Olowokandi’s name with the game on the line, and for putting the selfish Keyon Dooling on the floor at critical junctures), blame the players, but (for this one time only) give the owner a break.

How can it be that I’ve seen the Boston Celtics on TV more this year than I have the Clippers?
