FoodShare Launches Holiday Collection Drive

The county’s largest food bank has begun its annual drive, with officials hoping to collect 250,000 pounds of food to feed the hungry during the holidays.
FoodShare, with Ventura County Sheriff Bob Brooks as its honorary chairman, started its seventh annual drive last week. It runs through Dec. 24.
Residents are urged to drop off a bag of food or make a cash donation at any of the county’s 20 Vons stores. For more information, call 983-7100, Ext. 43.
